Rishabh Pant was born in Roorkee, Uttarakhand. From a very young age, Pant showed a keen interest in cricket. His family supported his passion. So, they moved to Delhi for better cricket training. He trained at the Sonnet Cricket Academy under Tarak Sinha, who spotted his natural aggression and talent.

Eventually, Pant moved through India’s age-group circuits quickly, representing India at the Under-19 World Cup in 2016. He scored the fastest 50 in U-19 World Cup history — off just 18 balls.

Domestic and Under-19 Career

Pant made his first-class debut for Delhi in the 2015–16 Ranji Trophy. He immediately made headlines with a triple century (308) against Maharashtra, becoming the third-youngest Indian to do so.

His attacking mindset and ability to hit sixes made him a fan-favorite early on. In the 2016–17 Ranji season, he smashed a 48-ball century — the fastest in Ranji Trophy history at the time.

This form ensured his call-up to the Indian team was not far away.

His bold stroke play in Tests has often turned games in India’s favor.
