Early Life & Passion
Abhishek Sharma was born in Amritsar. His parents are Manju and Raj Kumar Sharma. Additionally, he grew up with two sisters. Importantly, he attended Delhi Public School. Interestingly, he is childhood friends with Shubman Gill. They opened innings together in under-14!
During lockdown, Yuvraj Singh helped train him. As such, he gained extra guidance and confidence.
Domestic Career: Strong Foundation
When Sharma was only 15, he scored a century in his first U‑16 match. As a result, he hit an incredible 1,200 runs at an average of 109.09. Moreover, in the 2016 U‑19 Asia Cup, he captained India and earned Player of the Match in the final. Also, he starred in the 2018 U‑19 World Cup.
Later, he debuted in Ranji Trophy (2017). Notably, in the 2023–24 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he led Punjab to their first title. He scored 485 runs from 10 innings. His average was 48.50 with a strike rate of 192.46.
