Isack Hadjar ‘Very Confident’ About His F1 Future for 2026

Isack Hadjar says he will be on the Formula 1 grid next year, expressing strong confidence about his future as Red Bull evaluate him for a 2026 promotion. The rookie has become a major contender for the remaining Red Bull seat as the team prepares to finalise its lineup before the Abu Dhabi triple header ends.

Red Bull’s second seat remains under heavy scrutiny, especially after Yuki Tsunoda’s inconsistent season. Tsunoda has collected only 25 points since joining the senior team after two rounds of 2025. In contrast, Hadjar has delivered consistent pace, clean racing, and strong results for Racing Bulls.

Hadjar’s Breakthrough Year Strengthens Red Bull Case

Despite crashing on his first formation lap in Formula 1, Hadjar recovered with remarkable composure. He now sits inside the top 10 of the Drivers’ Standings with 51 points, making him the second-highest-scoring rookie.

Speaking in Qatar, he reflected on his journey with confidence and relief. He said: “Last year I didn’t really know if I was going to F1, and now I know I’ll be on the grid next year. Already, it’s a big step. I’m very happy. It finally ends all the questions! I’m very confident. I think I’ve had a very good year.”

His podium finish at Zandvoort and consistent points haul have significantly improved his chances of earning the Red Bull seat alongside Max Verstappen for 2026.

Optimistic About Red Bull’s 2026 Engine Project

Hadjar also commented on Red Bull Powertrains’ new 2026 engine, developed in partnership with Ford.

He said: “I know the engine is working. You’re in the unknown – you don’t know what Mercedes, Ferrari have built. The thing is, there’s no reason for it not to be competitive so I’m going to be optimistic and say it’s a good engine.”

With new technical regulations coming into force next season, Hadjar believes Red Bull will remain competitive, regardless of the changes in power unit development across the grid.

With two races remaining, Hadjar’s focus is still on Racing Bulls and achieving the strongest possible finish. He currently holds a two-point advantage over Nico Hulkenberg and Carlos Sainz, and he aims to stay inside the top 10.

He said: “If I end up on the podium and Alex Albon finishes with no points then maybe eighth is the target, but that’s not going to happen.”

Looking ahead, he added: “I’m very confident heading into this weekend – that doesn’t mean that we’re going to be fast, it’s just a feeling. On paper, I would say the car is going to be flying here. Maybe we’re wrong, maybe there’s something we’re missing, but I’d like to think it’s the case.”

As Red Bull edge closer to confirming their 2026 lineup, Hadjar’s impressive rookie campaign has placed him in prime position for the biggest step of his career.
