Defending champions Celtic cruised into the Premier Sports Cup quarter-finals with a dominant 4-1 win over Falkirk at home. A blistering spell of three goals in just ten minutes after the break sealed their progression in style.
Falkirk, promoted to the Premiership this season, had stunned Celtic in last year’s last eight by leading 2-1 at half-time before losing 5-2. This time, Brendan Rodgers’ side were in complete control from the outset, despite making six changes from their victory over Aberdeen.

Celtic’s intensity increased after the break. Alistair Johnston dispossessed Miller and curled a fine effort into the far corner. Dane Murray, fresh from signing a new contract, headed in his first goal for the club. Yang Hyun-jun then sent in a low cross that deflected in off Henderson for the fourth.
Falkirk became the first side to score against Celtic this season when Keelan Adams fired in a superb strike from the edge of the area to mark his 50th appearance for the club.
