Alex Scott Misses England Squad Selection

Alex Scott will not feature in England’s 23-man squad for the Serbia World Cup qualifier at Wembley. Manager Thomas Tuchel selected his final list on Wednesday and removed the Bournemouth midfielder from the match-day group. Scott earned his first senior call-up last week after an impressive Premier League run. He said the opportunity felt like a “dream come true.”

Tuchel Chooses Experience Over Rising Talent

Scott delivered strong performances for England’s U-21 team this year. He also helped Bournemouth control midfield in several key games. Many fans expected him to make his senior debut this week.

Tuchel, however, chose experienced midfielders for the Serbia match. Scott will now focus on the second qualifier against Albania. He hopes to prove his value before England announce their next international squad.

Marc Guehi Still Recovering From Foot Injury

Marc Guehi also stays out of the squad due to a painful foot injury. The Crystal Palace captain has struggled to train since last week. His absence creates a gap in England’s defensive lineup.

To strengthen the group, Tuchel added Trevoh Chalobah and goalkeeper James Trafford. Chalobah may earn his second England appearance. Trafford replaces injured goalkeeper Nick Pope.

England Shift Focus to Serbia and Albania

England already secured their place at the 2026 World Cup. Tuchel now aims to test new combinations in both matches. The team hosts Serbia on Thursday and travels to Albania on Sunday.

Scott still aims for a chance in the Albania game. He wants to push for a long-term role in Tuchel’s setup.
