Rajasthan Royals’ teenage prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who took the cricketing world by storm during IPL 2025, is already focused on returning stronger and more impactful next season. At just 14 years old, the left-handed batter etched his name in IPL history, becoming the youngest T20 centurion in men’s cricket and smashing the fastest IPL century by an Indian.
In a video shared on IPL’s official website, Suryavanshi reflected on his breakthrough season, saying,
“I got a lot of positives from my first season and I also learnt a lot in terms of what I can do for the team in the next season.”
Record-Breaking Debut
Suryavanshi amassed 252 runs in 7 matches, but it was his 101 off just 38 balls against Gujarat Titans in Jaipur that captured national attention. The knock, which included 7 fours and 11 sixes, was the second-fastest century in IPL history and the fastest ever by an Indian, achieved in just 35 balls. It also made him the youngest ever T20 centurion, at 14 years and 32 days.
Despite Rajasthan Royals having a disappointing campaign, Suryavanshi’s personal heroics didn’t go unnoticed. He was crowned the IPL Super Striker of the Season, an award given to the batter with the highest strike rate across the tournament.
“Next year, I will work on areas where I made mistakes and try to do much better for the team,” said the confident youngster.
Focused on Growth
For someone so young, Suryavanshi shows remarkable maturity and a clear vision for improvement. Speaking about his learnings, he said,
“My learning is that I have to do two times better than what I have done so that my team also plays in the final next year.”
His hunger for success and commitment to growth has also earned him a place in the India U-19 squad for an upcoming multi-format tour of England. He will be joining Mumbai’s Ayush Mhatre, who also made waves this IPL with Chennai Super Kings and is set to lead the team as captain.
England Tour Up Next
“It is a new tournament. I am going to the UK for the first time so it will be a new experience. I will experience how the game goes on there,” Suryavanshi shared.
He also expressed excitement about teaming up with Mhatre, adding,
“The preparations are going well and it will be a good experience of playing in England and will try to return with the trophy.”
A Star in the Making
From breaking records to being hailed as the future of Indian cricket, Vaibhav Suryavanshi is no ordinary teenager. His fearless attitude, explosive strokeplay, and grounded mindset make him one of the most exciting young talents in world cricket today. And if his words are any indication, fans can expect an even more dominant version of Suryavanshi in IPL 2026.
