According to Rohit, the incident took place in Trinidad and Tobago. Pujara, known for his discipline and vegetarian lifestyle, had ventured out late at night in search of vegetarian food. Rohit recalled, “We told him. We warned him not to go out at night. Don’t step out after 9 PM. This is the West Indies.”
Despite the warnings, Pujara went out around 11 PM and was unfortunately mugged on the way back. He admitted, “We didn’t find food, but on our way back, I was mugged. I can’t tell you all the details, but that’s the story.”
