Indian wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh shared how her on-field exchanges with Deepti Sharma and Sree Charani proved valuable during the Women’s ODI World Cup final against South Africa in Navi Mumbai. She explained that discussing the pitch behavior helped both her and the spinners make smarter decisions during the game.
“I think the spinners that we have, whether it is Deepti or Charani. I ask them how the pitch is reacting and what is happening. It helps me and them as well. When I am keeping, I should also know how the pitch is reacting. I think that helps both of them. We talked about which ball would be good. I think that helped us a lot today,” Ghosh told reporters after the final on Sunday.

Continuing her impressive run, Ghosh added a brisk 24 off 34 balls, giving India the late surge needed to post a strong total.
