Turkey is headed to the EuroBasket final for the first time in 24 years, set to face World Cup champion Germany in Riga on Sunday. Both sides carry unbeaten 8-0 records, making this a historic clash for the EuroBasket 2025 title.

Turkey defeated Greece 94-68 in the semifinal, while Germany beat Finland 98-86 to secure its spot in the championship game. Greece and Finland will meet for the bronze medal.

This will be only Turkey’s second EuroBasket medal, after winning silver on home soil in 2001. Germany will secure its fourth medal, having won gold in 1993, silver in 2005, and bronze in 2022.

Both nations already tested each other before the tournament. At the DBB Supercup on August 15, Germany edged Turkey 73-71.

Turkey 94, Greece 68: Osmani Leads the Charge

Ercan Osmani scored 28 points, while Cedi Osman added 17, helping Turkey dominate Greece in the semifinal. Alperen Sengun impressed with 15 points, 12 rebounds, and six assists. Shane Larkin chipped in with 14 points and five assists.

Turkey blew open the game with a 12-0 run in the second quarter, racing to a 45-24 lead. At halftime, the scoreboard read 49-31, with turnovers making the difference. Greece committed 12 first-half turnovers, gifting Turkey 17 points, while Turkey had only two.

Kostas Sloukas led Greece with 15 points. Giannis Antetokounmpo struggled to find rhythm, finishing with 12 points and 12 rebounds in 30 minutes.

Germany 98, Finland 86: Schröder Shines Again

Dennis Schröder delivered a masterclass, scoring 26 points and dishing 12 assists. He made four 3-pointers and went 10-of-10 from the free throw line.

Franz Wagner backed him up with 22 points, including back-to-back 3-pointers in the second quarter as Germany built a 49-30 lead.

Olivier Nkamhoua kept Finland competitive with 22 points. Lauri Markkanen scored 16 but shot only 6-of-17 from the field. Finland cut the deficit to six late in the third, but Germany pulled away in the final stretch.

Historic Stakes for EuroBasket 2025 Final

Regardless of the outcome, EuroBasket 2025 will make history. Turkey is aiming for its first gold medal, while Germany seeks to add another title to its growing collection.

The winner will also become only the second undefeated EuroBasket champion in the past nine editions, joining Slovenia’s perfect run in 2017.

The highly anticipated title clash tips off Sunday in Riga, with both Turkey and Germany chasing basketball glory.
